Thin Playing Cards?
Does anyone know a source for very thin playing cards? A complete deck would need to be about 1/2 the thickness of a regular deck. All I have been able to locate are magnetic cards or fanning cards. Thanks for any help.

Can't help you with an exact source... but I know they exist.
Have you seen Maven's "Phil" effect? I assume these cards come 'ungaffed'... anyone know if/where these are available?

From their online trick catalog, Murphy's Magic Supplies is the distributor of the Trevor Duffy and Phil Goldstein "Blank Phil Deck" which is the same as the regular Phil deck, but without the names printed on the back. This is a really thin deck.
Your local magic dealer should be able to obtain this from murphy's.

Manipulation playing cards such as Neilsens are about half the thickness of a regular deck.

Oliver is right, a blank "Phil" deck is the way to go...very thin cards!

I have the Phil Deck and knowing the thickness of the cards does not reveal how the effect works.Originally posted by eryanic:
ahhh...so that's how Phil works :)
It is a great trick though.

Do these blank Phil cards have a Bicycle RiderBack design?

Nope. At least not the ones I have.Originally posted by CardMaker:

They are from Protea Playing Cards - a South African company.

I love the Phil Deck. I bring it to kids shows and if I see a teen or adult really having fun I'll use it with them, the kids may not really get it but the adults love it.

The Phil Deck is a wonderful effect. I love it.
The blank Phil Deck is a source of thin cards at a reasonable price. But, they may not be thin enough to what Don wants.
Hope it doesn't expose anything to let you know that you get 82 cards in the blank Phil Set and that it appears to be about the thickness of a regular deck. Don indicated "half the thickness." The Phil cards are not quite that thin.
