Do You Have Questions About Graphic Design?

Postby krissheppard » April 11th, 2011, 11:41 pm

I'm brainstorming design topics for my blog, The Method: a graphic design & branding resource for magicians. What design topics or questions would you like to see addressed?

To see what I've got so far, please go to www.themethod.co.

IMHO There's some basic modern iconography lacking to convey magic specific emotional emphasis. What does astonishment look like when it's under a cup or a card?

Great work on the typographic deck. Can we get tophats as a suit in the pack?

May as well also use cups, balls, ... need one more suit - how about surprises? I wonder what a surprise looks like as an icon.

Hi Jonathan,

So you're saying we need more icons that depict different emotions that someone might feel while experiencing magic? Are you thinking something more like clipart that magicians can use?

Also, the typographic deck isn't something I designed. I wish I had, it's very well done. It's just something I came across on the net that I think we could draw inspiration from.

Thanks for the comment!

Hi Kris,

Yes, I'm in favor of exploring some distinctive semiotics to advance the reputation and recognition of our craft. Icons that we can use as clipart of a sort would be a fine resource.

Thanks for the clarification on the deck. I guess it's open season then on a pack that has such suits.

Best wishes,

Jon
