Hi,
I was recently looking about on one of those random web crawls, and came across an effect where you can (seeminly) remember any page from a magazine called out by an audience member. If I recall correctly any magazine can be used, including the company's promotional literature....
Stupid thing Is I can't remember where I saw it for sale - I remember it was a manuscript with the details in.... but that's about it... obviously I need a memory system ;)

Sounds like Steve Fearson's "Amagazing."

Jonathan Levit does this in his Parlour show, and he actually DOES IT. No tricks, he just cold memorizes every page in a magazine. Incredible.
Re: Remember any magazine page...
Barrie Richardson does it as well, and has some excellent tips in "Act Two - Theater of the Mind", on page 299.

Al Baker did it and explained his method in one of his books. It's in the Todd Karr collection of Baker's material.

You all have to be kidding!!!!! I've been doing the magazine thing in all my appearances all over the world since 1949!!! I teach it in just about all my books on memory. The most current in AGELESS MEMORY. Amazing!!! Where have you all been. You might also check my memory piece at the end of Vol. 4 of my "Best Ever" DVD set. HL

Do you recall the trick title (or the page number in the book)? The index to the Karr book didn't seem to reveal a magazine test.

Thanks to all for their replies -
I've just spent the weekend with Jeff McBride and he is now doing this in his act. Just brutal momory, no cribs or anything else. takes about 45 mins to learn the week's issue. From looking at the Barrie Richardson book, I'd say this is the groundwork for the piece. He did tip a few more things, but they were in confidence...
Harry, I shall pick up a couple of your books for this to give a rounded view.
I've gone through Baker's Book and didn't see it... will spend longer tonight.
Again, thanks to all of you - it seems there are more avenues than the Steve Fearson's "Amagazing." mainly because I want to do this clean... and although this allows you to do any of 5 magazines, it relies on a method that is not practacle for me.
