Or maybe it's because Richard has no legal or ethical obligation to do anything about it; he is not responsible for what the advertisers state in their ads. Would you expect the NY Times to pull a Sears ad because Sears was selling something they didn't think Sears should be selling?

I'm new here and I must say I'm a bit surprised at all the name-calling and cussin ... Let me say first of all that I love Lior -- he's a great performer, funny, and one of the most intelligent people I know. In my opinion, you ignore what he says at your own risk.
Mental Mysteries by Larson Sr. is indeed a great source if (as with most books) you're willing to read between the lines.
Important phrase here: "Read between the lines."

Yes, but that doesn't mean he's any good. Just because he works for large companies and on TV doesn't mean he doesn't suck! I'm not saying he sucks, because I've haven't seen him work (and after reading his snotty posts, frankly I don't care to). However, plenty of people can make the same claim and they stink to high heaven.

Just curious, what would you define as " good" And, how does a person get that apellation. They do something you like or approve of?
Certainly , working for "decent " fees is one measure of success. For example I don't like "rap music" I consider "rap music " an oxymoron. But that's only my opinion. Rappers, have a huge audience and the ones that make gigantic money, I assume to be "good" at what they do. Even if I don't like it. I recognize there is a market for it.
Richard. if I may call you that, do you consider lack of commercial success, makes some one good? Vernon and Slydini never achived commercial success. But (I don't think, that's what made them "good" My mento, Chet Miller once booked "Slydini" for his local Country Club.
He went over like bad breath. The members felt , since they were the employer, the entertainer should come to them, not vice versa. I'm old enough to have seen Vernon and Slydini perform. They were great! But I understand, why, they weren't commercially succesful.

Again, Richard, how would you define good, or at least "doesn't suck"

Yes, that's why I separated good from success.
So your definition of good is "artistic success"
which is even more nebulous. If by artistic success, do you mean, having mastered techinical aspects of a craft. Again, referring to the Slydini analogy, after the show Tony repeated over and over to my teacher, that he'd fooled them. But, had not, managed to communicate with his audience. So, was he "artistically succesful" because he fooled them. Or sucked, because he didn't entertain them.
Financial success in entertainment is often as much a measure of marketing as performing. The talent of getting shows is often separate from performing shows. Repeat shows probably require both skills
The magical arts are dominated by amateurs. Many have told me, they thought of turning "pro" but didn't want to make the financial sacrifice. I usually say: Copperfield made seventy million last year, not much of a sacrifice (big grin).
I find they often have different standards than
"muggles". The heroes of magic conventions I've attended are often unknown to the rest of the world. They are "good" in the magic convention venue.
Now back to what's good and Lior in particular. I've seen Lior perform a couple of times. In a language, that is not his native one. He owns the stage. He knows how to reach the audience. They laugh when he wants. They want him to succeed. They are in his side. His stage persona is very likable. Now this was at a Psychic Entertainer's convention. So not totally objective. So in my opinion, he's good. But I've given my standards for good, would love to hear yours

I just saw Lior's show here in London.
It was for 450 people.
Never saw something like that before.
He has all original stuff,very clever and funny.
It was hour and a half.
The people next to me were blowen away by the mind reading stuff.
Now,when I say original,I mean original!
Try to see him if you can.
He told me that he will be in Europe to the end
of October and then in the USA to the end of November.
