I'm interested to know the history of this effect. It seems like this is the same method to a trick Tannens sold called, "Houdini Water Cell Escape." In that trick, instead of a die, there was a small black ball that disappeared from a rectangular clear plastic container filled with water. It looks to me like Hydro Die uses the same method.
So does anyone know where this originated - an object in a container filled with water that vanishes when covered (by floating into the top)?
