This copy has some inked notes on the endpapers and throughout, underlining and rose-colored pencil highlighting of much of the artwork—including the author’s signature and special edition book number on the verso of the title page. An envelope containing several varieties of black and invisible thread is attached via tape to the front endpaper and the original prospectus/ad for the book put out by the Al Baker Testimonial Committee is tipped in on the rear glued down end paper; o/w externally it is a VG copy. CONJURORS’ MAGAZINE. (Magazine lot - ADB #1785) A large lot of 24 issues—the first two years—of this classic published by Walter B. Gibson from New York City in the mid- to late-1940’s. Magazines are printed, 8.5 x 11 size. This lot includes: the complete first two volumes - Volume 1: Nos. 1-12 (Feb. 1945 - Jan. 1946); Volume 2: Nos. 1-12 (February, 1947) complete. Volume 2 is professionally bound in black buckram with gold title stamping; Volume 1, however, has been amateurishly bound (an attempt at perfect binding) in corrugated boards with a shiny silver and black paper front and back; cloth binders tape covers the spine. (I think the individual issues could be removed and rebound or simply put in a matching slipcase.) The issues appear to be complete and in Good to VG+ condition. Both volumes as a lot for $180.00
