Andrews, William “Bill”. I REMEMBER MYSTIC CRAIG - “FASHIONS IN MAGIC”. (Book) n. pl., Bill Andrews, n.d. (compiled in the 1980’s). 20pp., illus., 4to. Individual sheets in plastic sleeves in a Stockwell Presentation Book. The basic text was written by Bill Andrews sometime in the mid 1980’s and published in a shortened form in both THE MAGIC CIRCULAR and M-U-M. In addition to the original article and photos, this booklet is supplemented by copies of letters, magazine covers, etc. honouring Mystic Craig (Bill Vagell).
This has the feel of a uniquely produced piece, but I’ve seen a couple of others mentioned on the Internet, but never fully described, so I anticipate it was a very limited production. Now offered at $50.00

[Culpitt, Frederic] Anonymous. FRED CULPITT COMPILATION. (Book) This is an unpublished compilation of articles by and about Fred Culpitt, starting with Jan Glenrose’s two and a half page brief biography from the November, 1945 MAGIC CIRCULAR, followed by various articles, observations and tricks published by Culpitt from 1911 through 1944 mainly from LAUGHTER AN LEGERDEMAIN and MAGIC WAND. All have been rekeyed with continuous pagination (125pp.) and are printed on 8.5 x 11 sheets now comb bound to make a single volume. This may well be a unique compilation and/or the beginning of someone’s manuscript on Culpitt. Now offered at $90.00

Lead, Brian, comp. LAFAYETTE, THE FINAL ACT. (Signed/inscribed Lafayette Historical Packet) This lot includes a pictorial folder (8.5 x 12) featuring Lafayette (Sigmund Neuberger) and his dog, Beauty, on the cover. Included in the folder is an Introduction page about the work numbered and signed (No. 12 of 500 produced) by Brian Lead and dated May, 1991. Also included, a large fold out double sided page, 14.t5 x 20.25, with a breakdown of Lafayette's last year alive containing a very detailed account of the final two weeks of his life, death and funeral. Also included is a two sided parchment paper (13.25 x 18.25) reprint of Edinburgh’s The Scotsman newspaper from May 11, 1911 from Edinburgh detailing the fire and its aftermath. As a special bonus, this copy of the packet is inscribed “To Robert Parrish with my best wishes” and signed by Brian Lead. Oversized folder has light creases at top and bottom, o/w near fine.
