It may help to specify which coin is used for the set.

I am guessing half dollars, but even then it could be Kennedy, Walking Liberty, Barber, etc.

The retail at Schoolcraft web site is from $290 to $515, depending on which coins are used. I assume these are dollar coins?

And what is a Dean's set? An expanded shell, and 4 matching coins, or a shell and 4 cut-down coins? or something else?

Oops, sorry guys. Yes they are morgan dollars. Bill, the deans sets are an unexpanded set with 4 remilled coins that fit the shell perfectly. The sides are also re-edged to make palming a lot easier and better grip. When it comes to shells, the dean set is usually the way to go in my opinion
