Coveted by collectors, desired by many. This is a Mint copy of an amazing trick.
This great slate actually created by David Howarth and sold through Ken Brooke's Magic Place as the Nemo Slate is a real example of no-nonsense baffling magic. Do NOT confuse this with the green slate with red lines from Ted Lesley. They don't compare; in fact, don't even come close.

The magician shows a slate clean on both sides. It is 16" wide and 12" high. He proposes to mentally "send" a word to an audience member. He writes the word on the slate in blue chalk. He then asks the spectator if he, in fact, knows the word he is thinking of. The spectator, of course, responds, "No." The magician says, "Amazing!" and turns the slate around to show the word NO written in big bold letters. Yes, it's an old gag, but it still plays.

The magician then suggest that maybe it might be better the other way around; the spectator attempting to telepathically send a word to the performer. He tells the spectator to think of any word of any length, but in order to keep it sensible suggests that it be seven letters or less. That, of course, leaves thousands of possibilities. The slate is wiped clean and the magician concentrates and then takes a piece of white chalk and writes a word on the slate.

He now asks the spectator to announce his word and spell it. He does so. Let's say the word is "machine." The magician writes the word, in blue chalk, on the front side of the slate as a record for the audience. He then pauses dramatically and turns the slate around. Written on the back side in big bold white letters is MACHINE! Now, that is unbelievable.
It's a killer trick with no "fishing," no questions, no stalling, nothing but a direct revelation of the mentally chosen word.
