Both links are active for me. Perhaps just a temporary glitch.

Most of the shipping charges are 20 and the lowest I saw as 15. Does it really cost that much to ship in Canada? Last item I bought from Canada cost nothing near that to ship. Why are the rates so high? Just curious. It makes buying a book even at the lowest cost a minimum of $30.

Don't get me started on US and Canadian shipping costs.
If I send something from the UK to the US it's only a fraction of the cost. I can also get stuff from Japan delivered within 3/4 days for a minimal cost.
The US and Canada must lose so much trade as a result.

You can do an estimate on canadapost.ca. I chose a random Montreal postal code with delivery to the 90210 zip code because it's familiar. I used a magic book as a reference and actually got a cost of $16 to mail to the US, so what he's charging is less expensive. My concern is shipping within Canada. Using the same parameters I get a cost of approximately $12, so he's charging more.

Of course the books are very inexpensive compared to retail but I always prefer to pay actual shipping costs rather than estimates. I am interested in multiple books, but buying four titles would cost $30 for shipping ($15 for one book and $5 each for the other three). I think that's well in excess of the actual cost.

If I could ship for less I would! The sale would be far better.

But there nothing I could do. First, like Mmanchester said you could check by yourself on Canada Post website. For example, I just ship a book in California (weight 1,3k) and it cost me $21. I asked $20... Yes, sometime it will cost a little less or a little more ($2-3), but overall that's pretty close.

Secondly, don't forget to remove the 10% fee that Ebay take from the final shipping charge + the 3% fee from PayPal + the time for packaging, the tape, the fuel for going to the post office etc. Also, I have added a Brodart cover on most of my book, so technically they are in better shape than a new one bought in store!

The best way to save on shipping is to buy many books at once since I combined shipping for multiple items (I never charge more than $5 for each additional book)

To be honest, I've lost a lot of money with my book collection, but sometime you don't have a choice...
