Franz Kukol, very rare item, signed !

Postby Dustyshelves » April 21st, 2012, 1:53 pm

At am offering a glimpse of Franz Kukol in the pages of a guest book in my possession, which I have mentioned in the forums. (Image and script in this instance, remain in my copyright & not to be used elsewhere).
The guestbook is from a guest house in Southsea, Hampshire, U.K.
Franz stayed there during a week's run of appearances at the Hippodrome Theatre, Portsmouth, in May 1909
Franz signed the page & left nice comments for the proprietor of the dwelling, together with a photograph of Kukol, relaxing.
The page measures approx 9x7 inches. The photograph 5.5 x3.5 inches
I am offering the item for sale , after much deliberation.I am making it available for 1,000 GBP.Plus shipping.
Please enquire if interested.
My e-mail address is steamcount@yahoo.co.uk
My postal contact address is:
Ian, c/o
14, Highland Road, Southsea, Hampshire
PO4 9AH
United Kingdom
The telephone number there is 02392 735033 ( not sure of the international dialing prefix)
I do not keep the item on the premises & there is no other item there of value.

Hi, yes, the shipping is extortionate, but it is ONLY at cost price. I have researched this & the only way it can adequately insured over 500 is by Global priority. The much lower cost normal Air + signature verified option only covers up to 500 GBP It is worth it for the peace of mind.

Please excuse my multiple posts on the subject...I have now found SLIGHTLY cheaper shipping via Fedex, still high at 82 GBP worldwide. The insurance portion is more than the basic cost.Unavoidable.

Oh, it has to do with the insurance. Okay. Sorry about that, Dustyshelves. Good luck with the auction. I posted a link to it on my blog.

Hi guys, well, despite some frantic e-mails towards the end from disengenuous dealers, making paltry offers & some two dozen watchers, the item was not sold, maybe there was a time difference issue, as it ended before midnight,(British Summer Time)
Or maybe people were put off by price & shipping ( I got that down to a still extortionate 68.50 GBP thanks to FedEx.....fully insured, at COST, would you believe!)
I have listed on a Buy-it-Now basis, which is first come, first served. I hope this finds a good home.
Best wishes, Ian
