trying to find a marketed ring box/ribbon trick

Postby Brad Henderson » January 23rd, 2009, 7:35 pm

I remember this item being very favorably reviewed when it first came out - but can't remember anything else about it. Essentially the magician threaded a spectator's ring onto a ribbon and then placed the ring inside a ring box. The spectator could retain the box by holding the ribbon. The magician had access to the ring.

This came out after Copperfield did something similar (if not the same) on one of his specials.

Does anyone remember who put this out and where it may be had?

Dear Brad,
If it is a gaffed ring box you seek, then there are dealer items that work like watch boxes, etc., etc. If it is a non gaff approach you seek, then the simple flip down into your hand method as you close the lid of the ring box (as one performs in the old Tannen "Ring-Go!" or the various El Duco ring effects) looks very clean (the pressure of the closed lid permits the box to be held by the ribbon, thus "selling" that the ring is still threaded and inside the box).

Could it have been Boxing Ring or Boxing Match Undefeated?
