FOR SALE: PERFECT TIME.
Of course, this is the original CW one that really started all the electronic watch knockoffs.
George Robinson has now come out with a third version that he is selling for $350.00. This new version eliminates the pen, as the magnet to activate running the watch hands is instead on the opposite strap. So, you activate it by your
handling of the watch itself, as opposed to having it on the table and your not actually
touching it as in the original. The trade off is supposedly in that the workings are more
reliable now. I can't say, since I have two originals I'm certainly not about to purchase a
third version, and certainly not one with, to my mind, an inferior handling.
Anyway, the problem with the originals was that sometimes the wire "antenna" embedded in the
strap broke, thus interrupting the circuit......not that the magnet in the pen failed. Repair is fairly simple provided one has a magnifying glass and tweezers so I never
understood what the uproar was about.
Both my originals are working fine BUT I do not
carry them around EVERYDAY and use as my daytime watch which is probably a
too rough handling for the wire within and why many needed periodic repair.
You can have one for $250.00 which is $100.00 below the ones now made (and for) which you
must keep your hand on the strap until the chosen time appears.
This timepiece has been kept in a glass display case in a nonsmoking environment and handled with tender loving care...unless naked, no one is permitted to handle it.
