[#2] A NICE MISCELLANY OF TITLES, INCL. CARD MAGIC

Postby magicam » February 23rd, 2006, 12:36 am

Hi again folks:

Here are some more titles, nice because they are scarce or sought after, or because they represent a good selection from an authors published works. AND, condition-wise, the vast najority of them are in very good or better condition. Please look at the preliminary comments re book condition, grading and shipping in my GF first list, here: http://geniimagazine.com/forum/cgi-bin/ ... 4;t=006039

Thanks for a good response to my prior listing. There is more to come!

A MISCELLANY

Andrus, Jerry Andrus Deals You In. Portland, OR, Star Magic Co., 1956. 1st edition. 191 pp. Wraps. Inscribed by Andrus. A beautiful copy of the first edition, in near fine condition, and the only edition complete with the routines. $65

Ayling, Will w/ S. H. Sharpe Oriental Conjuring and Magic. Bideford, Supreme Magic, 1981. First edition. 384 pp. Hb/dj. Dj spine mildly faded, else NF/NF. $85

Branch, Justin Cards in Confidence Vols. 1 &2. Plymouth, The Author, 1979. 1st editions. 150 pp & 154 pp. Stiff wraps. Both copies inscribed by the author. Volume 1 lacks the pressure binding clip (easy to find a match at a stationary store). Both copies very good or better. $58

Branch, Justin Manipulative Production and Card Routining. Plymouth, The Author, 1978. 1st edition, 2nd printing. 69 pp. Stiff wraps. Contains Sections 5 (Packet Magic), 6 (Card Handling) and 7 (Diversities). VG. $28

Buffum, Richard The Cones and Balls: A Modernized Version of the Venerable Cups and Balls, Based on a Move and Variations by Dai Vernon. Santa Barbara, CA, The Sorcerers Press, 1961. 1st and only edition. Wraps. 10 pp. NF. This little monograph has an interesting history. It was the precursor to Buffums Abracadabra Press, which 20+ years later began producing fine, hand-made books, mostly historical in content. This little monograph was produced entirely by hand by Buffum using his letter press printer, and was written based on Buffums work and interviews with Vernon, some of the material from which was published in L&Ls The Vernon Chronicles. Quite scarce, probably due to a very small print run, and an obscure bit of Vernonania. $55

Jordan, Charles T. Thirty Card Mysteries. Penngrove, California, The Author, 1919. 1st edition. 44 pp. Introduction by T. Nelson Downs. Grey illustrated wraps. Some soiling and edge wear to wraps, internally very good. G+. $35

KEN DE COURCY TITLES
