Books on Riffle culling/stacking

Postby CENTERDEAL » September 4th, 2015, 2:49 pm

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can put me on the right path to enhance my knowledge of Riffle stacking/Culling.
I use these techniques myself but want to delve deeper. I understand that David Ben who wrote Herb Zarrow's book also published a book on riffle stacking?. If anyone could point me in the right direction i would be very grateful.

Kind regards

Chris

It's out of print, but try to get a copy of "New Card Control Systems" by Joseph K. Schmidt, and published by Kaufman and Greenberg.

US Toy Magic seems to have a copy: http://ustoymagic.com/new-card-control- ... ph-schmidt

So does Denny & Lee: http://dennymagic.com/store/new-card-co ... hmidt.html

Steve Bryant's review on his Little Egypt Gazette: http://littleegyptmagic.com/magic_june2007.html

Google "Thanks To Zarrow" by Jerry Sadowitz.

Really great book.

Very hard to find.

Karl Fulves has some books in this area as well. I remember Jamy Ian Swiss reviewing one of them in GENII back around 1998/1999.

This sounds good as well:

The real work on this has never been printed. I saw Jennings cull and stack four Aces from a shuffled deck with no suspicious fiddling and quickly and casually.

I think you can get away with a lot more just by not "clamping" the cards down like they are nailed to the table. Stacking can be done quicker once your able to retain the right amount of cards needed for each shuffle. Much like a perfect 26 cut for a perfect faro its hard but not as hard as most imagine it only gets harder when your retaining different numbers in each hand and different numbers in each shuffle. All the cards have to be sighted for culling which poses a problem so its amazing how Jennings was able to be so relaxed in doing so! unless the cards were marked in some way.

Well bloody well publish it then please!

Will this find its way into the Jennings books? And, the perennial question, how close are they to seeing daylight?

For years, Damian has been trying to convince Ian that Bishop is a great magician. But for some reason, Ian isn't having any of it.
