For those with an interest in magic history, Pietro Micheli has just published an expanded edition of "They Lived By Tricks". The book is incredible! Here are some details: limited to only 200 individually numbered copies; hardbound edition with handsome see-through dust jacket; 456 pages profusely illustrated with 188 images, 106 of which are in full color; most images are never-seen-before rare or unique eighteenth century broadsides. The material on Pinetti alone amounts to over 100 pages; showing nearly 60 images and revealing for the first time previously unpublished broadsides, leaflets, letters, books and documents relating to this most famous magician. As a standalone study it is, in itself, the most complete biography ever written on Pinetti.

Re: They Lived By Tricks - Expanded Edition
The book is written in English. The price is currently €95: after EMHC, it will rise to €120 (to this you have to add postage: an email to the author will tell you how much postage is for your country).
Mr. Micheli has a presentation PDF of the book, available on Google Drive (please, let me know if you have problems in downloading it).
As Joe said, the book is excellent: the quality of the layout, the paper, the design is rarely seen in magic publishing, and the amount of information is just overwhelming, laying open a world of magic almost unknown. I don't know how many years of research this work entailed: a chapter (on Tomaso Palatino and Hyman Palatine) won the Roxy Award for Research on Magic History in 2012; the following year the author published a first edition which sold out rapidly, and he continued his research for five more years. This is the result.
