Mosquito's Parade - The Lost Vernon Footage

Postby Ryan Matney » March 29th, 2017, 6:07 pm

I may have asked this before but I can't find it.

In "More Inner Secrets of Card Magic" appears a routine called Mosquito Parade. The text states that Vernon had just filmed a short movie for a major movie company performing the routine. Has anyone ever seen this film? Does it exist?

Is this sitting in a vault somewhere?

David Ben would know. If he shot it in England, then it might have been for British Pathe.

What I would love to see again is the TV programme shown in the UK called "Into Thin Air". It was about 30 minutes long and featured Vernon, Slydini and Cy Enfield all in their prime. I remember watching it when it was on black and white television. It was in the fifties. I often wonder if it was every archived anywhere deep in the bowels of the BBC. I still remember Slydini doing the coin roll something which I never associated with him somehow.

That sounds like an amazing show. Famously the BBC destroyed their archives, just ask any Dr. Who fan, and not much exists from that time period.
