The article doesn't mention that Noah used to work behind the counter at Tannen's. He was always polite, knowledgeable, eager to both demonstrate effects as well as to inquire about what the customer was currently working on, all without being pushy.

As those who visit these kinds of establishments know, the above attributes are not often all possessed by the person behind the magic counter. Noah stood out that way.

It shouldn't surprise me, but I used to work summers in a family-owned dry goods store. It would never have occurred to me to treat customers the way I have been treated in some big name (now defunct) magic shops.
