Ben Franklin -- busker

Postby Bill Mullins » July 13th, 2016, 6:03 pm

I believe somewhere I heard or read that Ben Franklin wrote what may be the earliest description or explanation of a magic trick in United States (during the colonial era, to be sure) (possibly a magic square?).

Now I learn that he was a busker in his youth.

Ben Franklin, who was a busker in his early days, will be glad to see that the First Amendment still has some life in it, although it takes a street saxophonist and the ACLU to keep it going.

Recall also that he had mistresses in America, France and England; that he said "In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is Freedom, in water there is bacteria"; that he advised a young friend, in reference to sex with mature women, "in the dark all Cats are grey"; and that he wrote an essay called "Fart Proudly" (was Le Petomaine a student?).

Ben Franklin was, by far, the baddest of the founding fathers.

it was a version of the magic age cards using well known sayings. it was called 'the impenetrable secret'. Ricky Jay did a small booklet on it
