I recently finiashed reading the extraordinary "Non Plus Ultra" by Magic Christian. Yes, it's taken me almost six months.
On pg. 238 of volume 2 is a quote which was also given in the Hofzinser cover story in the November 2005 Genii which had Hofzinser on the cover, to the effect that Hofzinser sold the secret to some of his tricks, incluuding the method of "The Forced Thought" to Mr. Clite, a "wealthy Englishman" for 200 florins.
Can anyone cast a bit more light on Mr. Clite?

Hmmm...I've got nothing, and presuming you cannot find anything in the usual places (CARC), sounds to me like someone needs to spend time in the British Museum. It also sounds like fun!

I checked "Ask Alexander" before posting this, Dustin. I ask Alexander before I ask the Genii Forum. Next stop: The Magic Circle Library, Eddie Dawes, and Magic Christian.
