Buildup to Ace Assembly in routine

Postby Jonathan Townsend » October 19th, 2012, 10:42 am

Is there some published precident for a routine that leads up to the assembly effect? Has this theme been explored:
However one shuffles then deals out the cards - all four of a kind are in teh same (and then selected) pile.

Looking for references rather than reinvent this particular wheel.

bump -

any background or routines that lead up the ace assembly trick?

the idea is to give the item a context.

thanks in advance,

Rather than 4 aces, I've used four bad Blackjack hands -- then cards from each of three hands change places with my hand to give me a great hand I can split. Blackjack cheating patter.

How is that not a poker deal?

T, when they start picking piles after the cards are dealt - IMHO it's gone from a poker deal to something else.

Agreed, but unless the audience has a clear understanding of where the aces start out (i.e. one in each pile), it's still more gambling demo than assembly.

Agreed T, that would be the very first phase of the routine where you show the cards on top of the pack, do a couple of cuts and shuffles and then deal out four hands.

It's after a few repeats with just the sixteen card packet in hand, overhand shuffling between dealouts that they start picking which packet before (and then after) you deal - shuffle the packet themselves, deal the packet themselves and finally you do the display and cover stuff that sets up an assembly.
