I read somewhere a while back about a guyit could have been Karrell Foxwho watched another guy do a show and said "I don't know how you did that trick, but I know how you can get a bigger reaction." The trick was a prediction, and the solution was not to show the prediction to the whole audience at once, but to move stage left and show it to only the edge of the left side of the theater, and then to move right and show it to that edge, and then finally return center and show it to the whole crowd.

Does anybody know what the hell I'm talking about? Thanks in advance.

The effect is called "One in a Half Million" from Barrie Richardson's book Theater of the Mind. The effect is on page 10.
You are right about Karrell Fox. The quote you are talking about starts on the bottom of page 13.
