Only DVD, no books and tricks reprinted like Al Baker?

I appreciate his Misdirection Pass

I would prefer to see this as a book, but I would still get this. I grew up reading my MAK magic catalog every day and night.

Besides I hope they will finally explain how they came up with the idea of a paint job that looked like someone took a piss all over the product.

I loved the yellow and white squiggle paint!!!

Good times.

There is some excellent footage of Grant lecturing on the Mystic Craig dvd from Miracle Factory. I suspect it will overlap what is on this set, but that's ok. Great stuff though, very practical ideas, presented very fast and succinctly. (There is also HORRIBLE footage of a young Bro Hamman on this dvd, horrible because Craig kept panning away from the magic trick.)

Caroll,

is it just me, or is there no way to access the preorder link or price?

"Mak Magic is a wholesale distributor. So unfortunately, we do not sell retail. Please contact your favorite magic dealer for prices on any of our merchandise."

yes. I would have assumed though that with a limited edition item they would handle that themselves. Otherwise it seems rather chaotic.

On a side note, I'd be interested to see the response to the limited edition DVD. Do people have the same sentimental attachment to DVDs-as-objects that they do to books-as-objects?

Digital media are so non-tactile, that it seems an odd product to try to make a collector's edition of...it may be wildly successful, but has me curious...

To me the difference is between printing out the pdf myself (which I will never get around to doing) and having the books. Depending on the cost difference it may be worth it.

Not sure about the price either, The 100 DVD collector sets comes with the print out but also not sure if it is the same as the pdf that is on the DVD.

I feel the same about having a book in hand but the DVD is supposed to feature some "lost" lecture film that would be lost in "translation" to book form. I hope that they put out a book soon as well.

Talked to Jim Sr. (Grant's Son-in-law) about the collector set.
He said that the booklet that comes with the Collector only set is different from the pdf's on the DVD.

Also, the Mystic Craig DVD footage from Miracle Factory should be different but he hasn't seen the actual DVD to compare.

He said the footage he has is original lecture films and home movies converted to DVD for the release.
