I have recently purchased the book "Magic and Mystery: The Incredible Psychic Investigations of Houdini and Dunninger". I would like to slip it into my book case but I'm afraid I'm not sure who actually authored the book.
The introduction is by Dunninger, so this leads me to believe that he wrote it, but again I'm really not sure.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Author of Book
Im pretty sure what you have is a later reprint (and thus re-titled edition) of Houdini's Spirit Exposes and Dunninger's Psychical Investigations by Dunninger and Houdini.

Re: Author of Book
It is quite possible. The version I have is dated 1967 but gives no indication if it i first edition or a reprint.
Re: Author of Book
Clearly if its 1967, it's a reprint. Probably the Weathervane-published version.

Re: Author of Book
According to Bart Whaley, it seems the first edition was 1928. The book contained 111 pages.
I don't know the Publisher.

Re: Author of Book
Just to muddy the water a little more, I have a paperback edition of a work entitled Houdini's Spirit World Dunninger's Psychic Revelations. It is 202 pages and has a 16 page signature od B&W photos tipped in.
It is published byTower Publications Inc., 185 Madison Ave, New York, New York. The copyright citation is "Copyright 1925, Liberty Weekly, Inc. Copyright renewed 1963, Liberty Library Corp, Copyright 1968, Liberty Library Corp." I assume that this last reference is for the book at hand.
From a quick browse, it appears to have been a collation of articles written by Dunninger and Houdini for Hugo Gernsback's Science and Invention Magazine.
Could this be the same book?

Re: Author of Book
It seems because Whaley quotes the articles for the Science and Invention Magazine.
Re: Author of Book
You are correct, it is the Weathervane version. It is 202 pages with no pictures.Originally posted by boblinds:
