Postby P.T. Murphy » February 16th, 2006, 6:59 am

Has anybody heard anything about these? I have been told that Squash is publishing these and that they are due out soon but have heard nothing else. What is the scoop? Inquiring minds watn to know!

Hi Mr. Murphy--as far as I know, the David Ben Vernon biography should be out by this summer. I also understand it's a two volume set, but I'm not 100% sure.

The first new Vernon book to come out will be The Vernon Touch--700 pages and due at the end of April.
In July, Squash will publish volume one of David Ben's bio of Vernon.
Squash's Dante book is coming soon.

Cool thanks!

I feel so out of the loop. Who is publishing the first new Vernon book?

Hello All,

Just to clarify things, Squash will release a number of books this year, the first two being the books discussed in this thread. We will also release a large Okito book (tricks and history) later in the year.

First up is a charming memoir by Marion Trikosko, about his time with the Dante show, called "Trouping with Dante." In addition to a biography of Dante, it details the behind-the-scenes stories and information sorely lacking from most books of this sort. It is at the printer now, and I expect delivery in about 5 weeks, just in time for the MCA Weekend in DC at the end of March.

David Ben's Vernon bio, which will be released in two volumes, is well on its way to completion. The first book will be available in June. Hold on to your hats, folks.

Thanks for your interest,

Gabe Fajuri

Richard,

Do you intend to have a similar promotion as you did for "100 by warlock"?

The Vernon Touch book will not be used for a promotion like the Warlock book. How can it be? What are all the people who've just upped their subscriptions to 3 years going to say if I suddenly offered a new book instead of Warlock? They'd be annoyed--as I would be if I were in their position.
The Vernon Touch book will be available for purchase at a special pre-publication price beginning in April and it will only be available through Genii by mail order or if I happen to be at a convention.

Still beats ordering complete past volumes of Genii and putting it together yourself. :)
