Do any of you know, what happen to Johny Hart ? It has been very quiet, is he retired. Saw him last time about 10 years ago perform in the danish cirkus Benneweis, Copenhagen.

I'd love to know this too. Growing uo, as I did, in the 70's when there was a lot of great TV magic in the UK, I fondly remember Johnny Hart as the first manipulation act I had seen. He totally blew me away. Once, he did a Christmas special from a children's hospital and produced budgies while in a tee-shirt and casual pants. Where they came from I'll never know. It stunned everyone. One of the greats for me.

I have no idea how true this is, but as we are in "gossip and rumors" take it for what it is worth... I was told... again...

I was told that his wife had left him and that it was "possibly" due to drinking problem.

Johnny was a tremendous talented performer, one that was in the top lists -- and I hope the rumor is not correct, or if it is/was he has sorted things out.

I have been told what happened to Him, by his brother, Peter And, i have to say, the rumours are sadly no where near as unfortunate as the truth. Its not my place to talk about it though.

Perhaps his brother would like to tell us ?
