New Martin Nash Book

Postby Terry » October 25th, 2001, 6:36 am

I read somewhere that a new book by Martin Nash would be coming out at the end of October. Has anyone else heard about this? Will it be a combined updated reprint of his 3 previous books?

I am not sure about that! I know that Martin Nash will be coming out with volume 6 of his awarding-winning card magic by A-1 Media.

Monte, as in 3 cards.

I worked on a Martin Nash book for Jon Racherbaumer, including his "Infinity" work, but do not know the publisheing schedule.

The Martin Nash "Infinity" book that Matt mentions is supposed to be published by Lee Freed.

Wow, this is an old thread, but I just learned that Lee Freed did publish a book with Martin, in early 2000s concerning Infinity work. I was also recently told that a key card placement that I gave Martin was included. Does anyone know the title of this book and where one might be acquired? It had been many years since last seeing Martin then suddenly and sadly, he was gone. Thanks, Steve Silverman

Infinity Power was published in 2003. Check with used book sellers like Andy Greget or John Cannon (Aladdin Books). I already checked H&R's site and didn't see it listed.

There were only 50 numbered copies printed.

Thats surprising. 50 is not a very cost-effective number. I dont recall the book costing that much, so they planned to lose money on the book?

Jon Racherbaumer told me that only 50 copies were produced. I don't have one. I don't know the full story.

My memory isn't what it used to be.. but I think there was someone writing a book with Martin, and there was an issue. Not sure if the book saw a hardcover or not. The author either refunded money or sent ebooks. It's pretty fuzzy. It might be a fairly old thread on the Cafe.

Does anyone know what Hades plans to do with the Nash Triology? I had emailed them years ago, and they replied they were planning a combined reprint.

Perhaps those plans vanished (along with the economy?)

I naively wish that another publisher would obtains the rights to the material and give them the presentation they deserve (along with the third volume of MINT...I really want to read Marlo's Devano routine!)

It's a shame the publisher dragged his feet for so long. If they had gotten things together sooner, Martin could have posed for a new set of photographs. Too late, now.

I should add that redoing those three books is a massive projected. All would have to be OCR'd and corrected, and all the photos (whether the originals or not) have to be rescanned and worked on. Big job.

Lets be sure that we do not confuse Infinity Power with the failed Nash Reloaded (which the link to the Magic Caf has to do with). One has nothing to do with the other. Id like to hear why Infinity Power was limited to only 50 books.

Brian, do you recall what you paid? I have $25 listed in my database.

I think I found it hidden away on Denny Haney's side shelf; I doubt if I paid more than 30 bucks for it.

I bought "Infinity Power" from Martin at the LVMI in Sept. '03.
Over a cup of coffee we chatted and he signed "#10 of a limited first edition" I paid $25. which is the price on the book.

Steve S. --your "Fan Force Placement" is on page 10. You might also check with the publisher: Impossible Press.com Hope this helps.

Last email I had from Brian (<10 years ago) was that they were going to reprint with drawings instead of photos as the scans of the original prints weren't clear.

In talking with Mr Nash at his last Louisville lecture, he wanted to redo the books himself with updated material, but didn't own the copyright.

Last year I emailed Mickey Hades and asked about a reprint. I received a read receipt but no reply to my email.
