Who knew that in order to weld safty pins into place, you needed a Dewalt Grinder! Did the Robitussin spot run nationally? Anyone have any idea if they used a real magician in it? Roger Moore couldn't give a ship. Lance, Penn and Teller phoned it in, how lame. Jason Byrne did smile, Tony Chapek's act was right on the dime, (I guess it has to be), Was Rick's big cat teathered to some ceiling wire for safety? They edited around it pretty nicely. There were long establishing shots used as transitions??? Could have used a behind the actor shot at times. The audience was stacked with too many pretty girls. Pam seemed ashamed of her stupid chest, kept posing to hide them. Starving Africans, starving Africans, starving Africans.

Yes, I agree. Anyone got video of Sr.'s levitation?
I might have it. I'll have to look and see
if its on the tape I got from Jack Gwynne's
grand daughter. It also has film of Dante
& Thurston too.

I'm currently writing up/illustrating
the plans of Blackstone's leveitation for
Jim Steinmeyer. Since it was different
from his contemporaries.

I did write up the routine about the rabbit
that Sr., per someone's request. Its in the
beginner's forum under general magic.

Rick Thomas looked like he was having some kind of muscle spasm when he got on that bike. Either that or some of that ridiculous-looking Las Vegas stage movement that should have fallen by the wayside in the 70's.

On the other hand, those silly moves worked well, I thought, for the teenage girl.

Conclusion, paunchy middle-aged men should move like paunchy middle-aged men not teenage girls.

It's a shame that Rick didn't do his entire vanishing motorcycle routine. I got to see in in February and the switch he uses is really superb.

I saw today on the Boston.com tv listings that the show is supposed to be on again at 8PM on January 1st, although the program guide on my Verizon FIOS TV misled me the other nite to the American Music Awards that they had erroneously listed as the World Magic Awards so I am being cautiously optimistic..

It's also listed on the TV Guide website, so any of you that didn't have a chance to tape it can set your DVRs or TIVOs for 8:00 p.m. January 1st, 2008.

By the way, I hope everyone has a happy New Year!

Ummm.... Close-up magician of the year, do you think that they could have given him a chance to do magic.

Whoever he was...

I think if they were compressed for time they should have taken away a couple of the acts and extened the rest. The chopped up acts were not very representitive, imho, of what magic should be.

At least one performer was cut out, ostensibly to make time.

I guess the key to staying on television is to have many short intact arcs within your routines.
