In addition to watching Jimmy work (always a treat)the Bunny Boy Collective offers this amusing page.

Individual Forum members will have to make up their own minds if this is a direction magic should go.

Perhaps a future article for Genii or perhaps Rodney and his friends won't kiss and tell?

Nick, "black ads" right click through...Bell bottoms, and I remember being crammed at the door to Studio 54, body to body for a block...and when the bouncers pushed the group backwards, your body was at an angle that resembled a Michael Jackson video, but you wouldn't fall down because you were pressing on the next guy or gal, so it was like .....like...Ray Davies once told me that he was exiting a Football game back home and realized that he was walking, but his feet weren't touching the ground! (Two names dropped in :15 seconds, beat that)

What I found funny about this video is Jimmy's almost groveling to Orson who wasn't engaged at all...Merv's doing much the same to Jimmy...Jimmy sort of ignoring Merv whose show it was.

Jimmy had met presidents and here he was trying to suck up to Orson when Orson was in his "wine whore" days. I believe off camera he called the wine he was hawking "piss," but he took their money.

It seems there's more than one way to "do a trick"!

Thanks Danny.

Have you seen "Ricky Jays Banana Act", If not, your in for a treat. Only on the BBC.

Also I have a link to David Blaine's "Above the Below", his UK stunt. Never-before-seen in America. One of the most beautiful and moving films on endurance I have seen. Check back.

Jimmy and I watched this show and he commented about the whole situation. Just to set the record correct, the postings here are not accurate.

Jimmy did not try to suck up to Wells. More to the story.

I hope the poster of the video does not get sued for copyright infringement.

Hi Alexander,

in my opinion, creativity and self-expression is a direction everyone must go if we are to reach our fullest potential.

The BBC is a great site that will influence many artists of all kinds to step out of the box and say... "what box?"

Take good care,

yes a great video find along with the Dinah Shore show perf of Ricky. I think I saw that show. There were alot of variety shows that featured magic acts. jackie gleason, ed sullivan, shore, dick cavett, mike douglas, merv - i hope you can dig up more. I must have seen about 10 magicians on each of their shows.

I thought the grippo segment was done very well capturing his style nicely. Orson's unpredictable refusals to assist were met with Merv, in consideration of time, assumming the lead assistant job.

Works fine for me. Do you have Flash installed? You'll need that to view the photos.

I have flash installed, and the other exhibitions work fine.

The Grippo one is the only one that won't load for me.

Oh well.

Anthony,
If you had actually clicked through to the link I made you would have seen that I was making a comment about these guys advertising themselves as "male escorts."
