Yes, terribly unfair. He eliminated her being able to peek down her nose, thereby precluding her from scamming a million bucks.

My favorite story of this type was a guy who worked small Christian churches. He blindfold one eye and took the other out of its socket (it was prosthetic) and used it to "read" the Bible.
If memory serves, his name was Robert Coyne and he did the bit for years.
