Debunked!

Postby Erik Hemming » March 15th, 2004, 4:53 pm

At the risk of revealing my extreme geek-dom, I spotted something in the New York Review of Books that might be of interest to some of the gentle readers here.

Debunked! ESP, Telekinesis, and Other Pseudoscience by Georges Charpack and Henri Broch will be available shortly from Johns Hopkins University Press.

The title pretty much says it all.

Uri Geller and James Randi figure prominently.

The reviewer, Freeman Dyson--another name probably familiar to some folks here--recommends the book "...to believers and skeptics alike. It is good entertainment, whether or not you believe in astrology."

If you want more information, check out the the March 25, 2004 issue of NYRB. Should be on the stands now, most places.
