From today's Las Vegas Review Journal's website... "Illusionist Criss Angel looks at the Luxor beam and sees the ultimate spotlight.

Angel announced on Monday he plans to levitate in the beam above the 400-foot-high, pyramid-shaped hotel for the May 21 opening episode of the third season of "Mindfreak," the top-rated show on the Arts & Entertainment cable network.

Angel, who is joining forces with Cirque du Soleil for a headliner show at the Luxor in early 2008, also revealed two other stunts for the A&E show: In one he will make most of the local magicians disappear, and in another he will vanish while driving a black, gulf-winged Lamborghini between 150 and 180 mph.

He told reporters part of his levitation stunt in the opening episode will be aired live.

Angel's announcement came during the filming of his first episode. He drove the Lamborghini to the Luxor's front entrance, where more than 1,000 onlookers gathered for the shoot.

He was greeted by Luxor President Felix Rappaport, who told Angel the powerful beam and the Great Wall of China are the only two man-made creations that can be seen from outer space."

Sounds like a great opener for Season 3!

He'll have to keep his mouth shut or he'll be swallowing a billion or so moths as he levitates.

...do you mean a helicopter is going to pick up Criss Angel above the Luxor, and then show it on TV after A LOT of post production work and the "audience" keeps their mouth shut as to what they actually saw??

Isn't that considered exposure?

:p

Risking exposure here...

You can see many man-made structures from outer space. It depends on how far up you want to go. Many of these structures look like long, straight lines such as highways, railroads, canals, and of course walls. If the orbit is low enough you can see even more. From 100 miles up you can see extensive road network of the Nile delta. Gemini V astronauts Gordon Cooper and Charles Conrad were able to spot, among other things, a special checkerboard pattern that had been laid out in Texas, a rocket-sled test in New Mexico, and the aircraft carrier that would later pick them up in the Atlantic, along with a destroyer trailing in its wake.

However, from the moon, you can't see anything. According to astronaut, Alan Bean:

"The only thing you can see from the moon is a beautiful sphere, mostly white (clouds), some blue (ocean), patches of yellow (deserts), and every once in a while some green vegetation. No man-made object is visible on this scale. In fact, when first leaving earth's orbit and only a few thousand miles away, no man-made object is visible at that point either."

I also stopped watching him a looong time ago. And I agree on your assessment on what I probably missed...He and David Blaine are very similar and I do not enjoy watching either.
