Has anyone seen this new show? It's on Wednesdays at 9pm.
The TV Guide states, "In front of an audience without camera or computer tricks, viewers will witness spectacular displays of reality-twisting and mind blowing magic. "Masters of Illusion: Impossible Magic" will astound even the most jaded with its fast-paced escape artists, comedy magicians and mentalists."
I don't know how many episodes it will last, but there is at least a 4-episode run.

Sounds like the short series that ran in 2000-2001. Is it hosted by Franz Harary?

I believe this is something NEW (somewhat), at the end in the credits it has a copywrite date of 2008, however it may have been an re-edited from something made previously, and I guess if it in it's new re-edited format, that would have caused the producers to put a new date on the copywrite.
I will say this, one of the performers, has either lost a lot of weight in the last year, since I saw him a year ago, or this is actually made up from clips 8 or 9 years ago.

A lot of these acts seem to have been used initially in the WGM series. Anyone else concur?

I agree. There is no doubt in my mind that there was old footage used in this show. Besides the amazing youthful transformations of several of the performers, the biggest clue was with the performance of Joaquin Ayala. His show in Las Vegas has been closedand he and Lilia have been divorcedfor quite some time now. The last time I saw him he was performing with a dancer named Tanya and they were engaged (so I suppose its a fair guess that they are now married).

Would that by any chance be Rick Thomas?

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve is not !!

This was definitely a reedit of a previous World Magic Awards program. I can't remember which one but I have been transferring my video to dvd and just watched all of this before.
