AMA Voting Members?

I attended the Member's meeting at the Castle this afternoon, and I was quite surprised to hear how FEW members actually cast votes for the new Board. My experience with organizations like this seems to indicate that the stronger organizations have large percentages of voting members. (I've been on non-profit Boards in Arts organizations where this has proven to be true more often than not.)

There were fewer than 830 votes cast for the new slate of Board members. There are lots of important decisions in the coming weeks and months, and it would be in the best interest of the AMA if we had a more responsive membership. We've got over 4,900 active members, and fewer than a fifth of the membership bothered to cast a vote.

(BTW, I don't believe that NOT voting makes any sort of valid statement about anything.)

Now is the time to be an active part of the world's most unique private organization.
