Magic Reference Site Has Moved!

Postby atkinsod » January 31st, 2018, 9:55 pm

I've moved the Magic reference pages from http://magicref.tripod.com to http://magicref.net
The Lycos service wasn't so good, and their lack of security was poor.

For those who aren't familiar with the website, there are two main magic sections:

1. The Magic References: For effects such as The Linking Rings, Card to Wallet, Coloring Changing Knives, etc., provides lists of books, videos and products related to that effect. The specific page for that is here: https://magicref.net/magref/magref.htm

2. Magic Book Table of Contents: This page lists the table of contents for over 4000 Magic Books. The intent is to help you see what's in a book before you buy it, or by using a Google search you can find out in what book a particular routine might be in. For example, you can search: "site:magicref.net/magicbooks "linking rings" to find all books with references to the linking rings. This specific site can be found here: http://magicref.net/magicbooks

The site is as ugly as the old one, but hopefully you'll find it helpful.

I'll keep the old site up for a few months, but won't update it. All updates will be at the new site: magicref.net

Thanks for info.
We reference it quite a bit on MagicPedia and I just updated to the new link.

You might want to look into changing your old pages to do a redirect: http://www.learnhowtoguide.com/how-to-f ... e-in-html/
Share your knowledge on the MagicPedia wiki.

Thanks, Joe - my dream would be to be able to copy all the book contents over to Magicpedia, but I'm having enough trouble just keeping the website up to date!

I've thought about a re-direct - I think I will do that in a month or two. Appreciate the link to the "how to". I'm computer savvy, but not much of a coder/developer.
