William Link

Television writer William Link is a longtime magic buff. He wrote Doug Henning's Broadway show Merlin; created Blacke's Magic; and wrote magic-themed episodes of Burke's Law and Columbo (all co-written with Richard Levinson). Over the years, he's been awarded several Edgar awards by the Mystery Writers of America (which was co-founded by Clayton Rawson, who said "Crime Doesn't Pay -- Enough").

He was just named a Grand Master by the MWA, which is a pretty big deal in that world.

Richard Levinson's heirs and William Link may be about to come into some money.

And they’ll deserve every bit of it, they’ve created some great shows.
Funny how interest in mystery and magic intertwine. I looked over the MWA Grandmaster awards and saw half of my favorite authors, Stout, Queen, Carr, Hoch, Block and especially Westlake.
