Fantasio (Ricardo Roucau) has died. Many tributes are appearing on Facebook (pun intended).
Our condolences to his family and friends.

Re: Fantasio - RIP
I kept in touch via email with him for the last several years. We had a friend from Argentina in common.
He was a wonderful performer and I will miss him. By the way, he performed on the Ed Sullivan show the same night that The Beatles made their debut on that program. Soupy Sales was also on that night and performed The Mouse.
My sympathy goes out to his family.

It was Fred Kaps who performed that same night, he did Homing Card and the Salt Pour.
RIP Fantasio.

RIP Fantasio.
I may be mistaken on which Beatles appearance but Fantasio was on the Sullivan show the same week as one of the Beatles' appearances. I believe it was before he was doing his canes and candles.
Re: Fantasio - RIP
While both magicians and The Beatles performed on The Ed Sullivan Show, Kaps followed the band in their Feb. 9, 1964 debut. Fantasio appeared when they were on the show on Sept. 12, 1965.
Not the one who created the Potter Index.
