Why are you splitting an interview into six three-minute clips? GeniiOnline seems to be quite a click-baity project.

I personally am not doing anything because I don't run GeniiOnline. I run the magazine (print and digital).

I have to admit I'm not sure why it's there. I visited it once and have never returned.

Hey, Susan the EIC of GeniiOnline here. Just wanted to pop in and say that's a fair question to ask. There are a few reasons why we do this:
1. More than 50% of our readers are on their phone, and long-form video isn't a great experience there. The screen is small, the sound isn't great, and depending on your particular data plan, watching a 40-minute video might use up your cap.
2. GeniiOnline isn't only for magicians, it's for everyone. Now, while you would likely enjoy watching an entire interview with Jim in one sitting, not everyone has that kind of time or patience, so we divide the video up into more digestible chunks so if someone only has a few minutes, or is only interested in one particular aspect, they don't have to spend a lot of time skimming the longer video for what they want. Several shorter videos accommodate more viewing needs than one longer video.
3. And then there's the basic practicality of monetization: you'll make more from several videos than you will from one. GeniiOnline is a business, after all, and we need to be smart about keeping the lights on.
Hope that answered your question, but if not, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to explain where we're coming from.
Magic is for everyone.
