I was browsing through the Amazon Prime video range today and discovered a magic series I hadn't seen mentioned before: (apologies if I missed it somehow)
https://www.amazon.com/Episode-1/dp/B07 ... and+beyond
"Magic and Beyond" (1999) was a series hosted by Michael York where he presents various magicians (past and present) doing their thing. I had not heard of this series before, but was pleased to see the stage acts of Amos Levkovitch and Scott Cervine on the first episode.
"Magic and Beyond" series available on Amazon Prime

Slow, boring, hackneyed tricks set to cheesy music and a laugh track. Watched the first two episodes, and I'm done.

I haven't viewed every episode yet, but I agree that some of the show's production values are pretty "cheesy". However, I think some of the vintage footage of Blackstone, etc. is interesting, and I enjoyed several of the Johnny Ace Palmer segments. I also liked seeing some Castle regulars from that era that I had read about in Genii but had not seen before.

That's very true. My father used to tell stories of seeing Kalanag at the Alhambra Theatre in Cape Town, South Africa. So it was interesting to see Kalanag's extended (and very leisurely) levitation sequence in Episode #2.
Maybe I'll watch a few more episodes, but with the sound off and with the fast forward button close at hand.
