Jerry Lewis dies at 91

Jerry Lewis has died:

He played a magician in at least one movie (Geisha Boy, 1958) and lent his name to an introductory book on magic for children (The Jerry Lewis Book of Tricks and Magic, 1962). So I assume he had at least an amateur interest in the art...

Antenna TV ran an episode this evening of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson featuring an appearance by Jerry Lewis. It's a funny interview and should be repeated at 2 am Eastern time. Also featured : Dabney Coleman, Doc with Tommy and the band...and Carnak!

(March 21, 1984)

One of my favorite celebrity encounters was meeting Jerry Lewis in Newark Airport. Halfway through our conversation he suddenly stood up from his wheelchair and loudly exclaimed, "WALLA-BLAVAH-LAAAAAAH!!!" (Or words to that effect.)
