Celeste Evans – RIP
Saddened to hear the news that Celeste Evans passed away yesterday evening. She was an amazing person on many levels, and will be sorely missed. Condolences to her children and grandchildren who survive her, as well as her countless friends and fans.

Re: Celeste Evans – RIP
I had not known of her before today. That is an amazing biography of her on MagicPedia! Her life and accomplishments on this plane of existence were awesome. I read in the Magicpedia article that, "On 'To Tell the Truth,' Celeste escaped from a straight jacket in nine seconds (a commercial was due) and won the thousand dollar award." Gosh, Houdini himself might have been hard pressed to do that! (And, BTW, a thousand smackers was some real money back in those days).
Rest in Peace. Condolences to her family and friends.

Thanks for providing these gems. I thought along the same lines as the Panel - especially when number 3 answered so quickly (and accurately) as to how Houdini died, She must have educated herself before the show. Clever...
I can't count the number of times I've been put INTO a straight jacket in 9 seconds or less...

I interviewed Celeste Evans back in 2013 and posted two articles based on that interview on iTricks; you can read them on the following links:

I still have the recording of our (very long) phone conversation somewhere. I may try to post it soon; I need to find it.

I just finished reading her obit in the August Magic Castle newsletter. What an amazing life she had! And what a beautiful Greek goddess she was.

Amen to that Leonard! Quite inspiring, actually.
