367: Day Three - IBM/SAM Combined Convention 2017

In today's daily update from the IBM/SAM Combined Convention in Louisville, KY, we have chats with Dan Garrett, Past National President of the S.A.M. then we go into the Dealer's Room where we randomly chat with Mark Mason (JB Magic), Roger Nicot (Card Shark), and Paul Richards (Paul Richards Magic). Next up is a talk about entering contests and competing with Stuart McDonald followed by an insightful chat with Past International President of the I.B.M., Jim Nagel, who talks about the current state of and the future of magic conventions. Finally we have a chat with one of the performers from last night's show, David Deeble, who also delivered an outstanding lecture on comedy writing.

The S.A.M. has an annual event for their Life Members that includes a talk by some notable person. This year is was Rick Heath who was the artist for the Le Grand David Magic Show for 35 years. He talks for about 40 minutes on his experience with Marco the Magnificent (Cesareo Palaez) and the magic troupe. It was a marvelous talk and much different from the one he delivered last year for the I.B.M. at the annual Merlin breakfast.
