360: A Magician Prepares

This week we talk with the authors of a book that could have been a podcast.

Joshua Stenkamp and Jason Wethington took their microphone to interview 19 top magicians and hear their personal stories of how and what led them to their success. They then transcribed and edited each interview to make succinct, cogent chapters that make for a digestible, easy (and educational) read. Each chapter begins and ends with the author(s) detailing what they are doing to get to the interview and where they are going next. The whole book has the feel of reading one of my podcasts. "A Magician Prepares: Act One - Interviews" is a fun read that you can keep on your nightstand and read a chapter a night then drift off to sleep thinking about how you can become a better magician.

The first part of this podcast is a chat with Jason Wethington who was part of the staff of Kostya Kimlat's "Restaurant Magic Business" (RMB). Jason gives us an update on what RMB was, where it is now and lessons learned. Kostya lectured on this very subject at the Genii convention and in Blackpool, so I know there is an interest to a large audience in this subject.
