359: Andrew Goldenhersh - Not A Hare Out Of Place

Postby Scott Wells » June 3rd, 2017, 10:51 am

Performer, consultant, creator, musician, and award winning magician, Andrew Goldenhersh, joins us this week on The Magic Word Podcast. This was recorded this past February within hours of him learning that he was nominated (again) by the Academy of Magical Arts (AMA) for "Close-Up Magician of the Year". Well, the AMA awards banquet has since come and gone so you now know that the award was presented this year to Richard Turner. But Andrew can always lean on his other two AMA awards for "Parlour Magician of the Year" from 2009 and 2010. Plus it gives him great satisfaction to know that he was instrumental in helping Jason Alexander (TV's "George Castanza" on "Seinfeld") win the "Parlour Magician of the Year" award in 2006.

In this week's podcast, Andrew talks about his association with Jason Alexander as well as how he created an act after living in Japan and initially not knowing any of the language. He talks about learning the importance of silence and pauses. This chat was very insightful and is now in my "top 10" of current podcasts.

You can watch a video of Andrew performing at The Magic Castle, see some candid photos, read the blog, listen online to the podcast and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/sco ... oldenhersh Of course you can subscribe, download and listen through iTunes, Stitcher, Tunein, Feedpress, Google Play, and a variety of other podcatchers. You can also listen through your Amazon Echo. Just say, "Alexa...play The Magic Word Podcast" to hear the recent episode. How cool is that!
