Nearly a full month before their show opened at Hooter's Casino Hotel, I recorded a conversation with Jarrett & Raja for the podcast. It is now nearly a full month since they opened and, as expected, all is going well and from what I've heard/read, their show is a success.

In this podcast, Jarrett and Raja talk about their work to get a show on "the Strip" and their journey that took them through "America's Got Talent [sic]" (AGT) and "Shark Tank". Many other magicians have been on AGT and some have already spoken on The Magic Word about their experiences. But this is the first illusion act that has tried to solicit investors on television's "Shark Tank". Spoiler alert: they didn't hook a shark, but they did get a big fish. On this podcast they discuss all that and more on their "near harrowing experience" leading right up to the moment the "sharks" took their seats to begin filming.

You can view a video of their performance on "Shark Tank" plus a private video I shot in their warehouse, see some photos, read the blog, enter the new contest, listen to the podcast online, and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/sco ... t-and-raja Of course you can listen on iTunes, Stitcher, Tunein and a variety of other platforms including Amazon's Echo. Just ask Alexa to "play The Magic Word Podcast" for the latest episode.

Congratulations to this week's winners of a copy of "Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations Volume Three" courtesy of H&R Magic Books: Fred King and Shaun Rivera. Be sure to enter this week's contest on the blog for a chance to win one of two copies of "Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations - Volume Four".

And we also welcome Robb Peffer as a new member of The Friends of The Magic Word.

They did a season at Blackpool's Hilton Hotel about ten years ago. While I enjoyed the show, there was never a reason given as to why a classical pianist was working with a magician. A possible explanation would be for Jarrett to say, "I was walking along the beach and found this old bottle in the sand. I cleaned it up and opened it. Believe it or not a genii popped out and granted me one wish. He must have misheard me as I ended up with a large pianist."
