In this third installment of my Las Vegas Chronicles, we visit the home/museum of Gary Darwin. Gary has been a Las Vegas resident and magician for over five decades and he's pretty much seen it all. His weekly "Darwin's Magic Club" is celebrating its 51st year and they have seen several people come and go. Gary talks about some of those magicians including Siegfried and others who have stopped by and shared their magic and stories. But along his long strange trip (thank you Jerry Garcia) he has accumulated/collected a massive amount of magic. I can't say that it's in any sort of order, but thanks to Lance Burton and others who visit him weekly, the collection stays intact (though not regularly dusted). There is a fine line between collecting and hoarding. I'll let you be the judge as you view the video on this week's blog of The Magic Word Podcast that includes a YouTube video tour of his home that I shot before we sat down to chat.
You can view the video, see some photos, read the blog, listen online to the podcast and download the MP3 files at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/sco ... ary-darwin
This week we also get caught up with long overdue thanks and welcome messages to a few people who have helped defray our expenses by joining the Friends of The Magic Word. Welcome, Jonathan Hsu, Geno Munari, Phil Ackerly and James Wade. Thank you, guys, for your support and patronage.
Discuss the latest news and rumors in the magic world.
