341: HoudiniOpoly - Dick Brookz & Dorothy Dietrich

Postby Scott Wells » January 27th, 2017, 5:26 pm

Dick Brookz and Dorothy Dietrich are the curators of the Houdini Museum in Scranton, PA. For the past two years, they have been working on a new board game, "HoudiniOpoly". Essentially it is a game that will be both fun and educational so the players will learn the facts about Houdini's life as they play. They recently completed the basic funding of a Kickstarter campaign. They are now on to reaching their stretch goals to improve the paper for the "money" and for the "charms" or player pieces.

In this week's podcast, they talk about the museum, the old Magic Townhouse in NYC, the Houdini seance and of course, their new project. The Kickstarter campaign will run through March 9, 2017 at 1:28 p.m. CST. The only way you can be assured of purchasing one of these collectible games is to support the project. For more information, you can visit: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/17 ... anks_share

You can watch a video, see some photos, read the blog, enter the new contest, listen online and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/sco ... dini-opoly Of course you can hear the podcast through iTunes, Stitcher, Tunein and Feedpress or a number of other podcasters.

Be sure to enter this week's contest for a chance to win a copy of "Danny Archer Goes Mental" eBook offered by Danny Archer. You will find the online entry form on the bottom of this week's blog. And one more thing: I will be traveling to Las Vegas soon and plan to record several conversations with local magicians for upcoming podcasts. I will appreciate any financial support to help defray my travel and lodging costs for this project.
