I am very sorry to learn of Harry Riser's death, even though I knew his health was frail. I edited "Feints and Temps" and it's one of only a small handful of the more than 85 books I edited which I consider a favorite. The subtleties he included in his magic is worth looking at again and again. He is one of the underground legends in magic -- I wish more of his work was more known to more magicians.

I only got to interact with Mr. Riser but one time about 10 years ago--the advice he gave me had a profound influence on my studies in magic and will continue to do so forever. He was such a kind and generous man.

My very sincere condolences to his family, friends, and students.

Here is the video tribute made for Mr. Riser on the occasion of his induction into the SAM Hall of Fame.

That's very sad. His legacy is some great magic.

In the case of Harry Riser prefer to think about General Patton's quote:

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."

He lived a long productive life with a great wife and magic friends. He also left behind great magic for us to study and perform.

Dear friends in magic,

I was learnt many subtelies in his books a long time ago, but I have not the pleasure to meet with him anytime.

Usually when I read a book can know something of the personality and thoughts of the autor, and he always remember me to "The Professor" Dai Vernon.

Our most sincere condolences from Barcelona- Spain to friends and family.

F. Amílcar Riega i Bello.
