Read this from Mike Weatherford in the Las Vegas Review Journal. (Just to remind you that Mike has one eye and wears a patch, and it has been reported that Mr. Angel threatened to poke out Mr. Weatherford's remaining eye several years ago after a bad review.)

Actually, the guy with the eyepatch is the doyen of Las Vegas showbiz writers, Norm Clarke. But, Mike Weatherford is probably the most highly positioned reviewer.

Edit: this was the link I think Richard intended to post ( Mike Weatherford has just penned 2 recent columns on CA )
http://www.reviewjournal.com/opinion/co ... ic-forward
Quite an insightful post from a entertainment columnist. He hits the nail on the head:
"This opportunity to really move magic forward only comes along every so often. As in decades. Think about Siegfried &Roy’s show opening at The Mirage. In 1990."
S&R's show was such a spectacular leap - it was frightening ...
The Criss Angel & Cirque du Soleil combination was supposed to deliver the next great advancement. Unfortunately they never did.
Will be interesting to see when we get the opportunity to witness the next great 'moment' in theatrical magic that Copperfield, S&R and the like delivered ... and whether we will recognize the moment when it happens ...

Yes, Craig, that was the correct link, though the first link I posted also makes similar points.
