Who on the Cafe would receive a tribute like this? Hint: No one.

Anyone having difficulty viewing the photos? All I see are blank boxes with the tiny blue box in the center.

Such a tribute to Mr. Lorayne that so many luminaries came to show their love. What a legacy! (My favorite pictures were those with Harry and his granddaughter--very cool.).

In this day and age where everyone seems at each other's throats and no one trusts anybody, it's so nice to read about something so positive. Kudos to Mr. Cohen and Mr. Frankel for remembering where they came from and for honoring their mentor and friend.

As Harry frequently says: "It's best to throw bouquets while the recipient is still around to smell them." Indeed.

I find it a little odd that David Regal used Karl Fulves as a prop.

I find it a little odd that Jon Racherbaumer should be in attendance after recent reading on the internet his piece detailing Mr. Lorayne's supposedly dubious history on crediting.

But you know, I'm a little more than a little odd.

If you're going to include what you describe as "odd" attendees, why not mention my name?

Jon and I long ago buried our differences with Harry. The same cannot be said of Karl.

Though I don't know you, you seen remarkably normal, Richard. No sarcasm or *** kissing intended. You showed me your pass at a trade show, too, which must count for something.

I dont know any of the parties. Just an observation.

I understand Mr Fulves is alive, elderly, and has a challenged relative to care for. He seems an odd choice for the trick.

I am about as far from "normal" as a person can get. I have Asperger's, and being on the spectrum has allowed me to produce a lot of stuff since 1977. However I haven't always been very nice about things--something it has taken me many years to learn how to partially control.

What you get with Harry is the release of the uncontrolled ID. (That's the psychological term, not someone's "ID" or form of identification.) It inspires different reactions in people, and different reactions at different times. Hence the ups and downs of some of his relationships.

Unlike Jon and myself, who had an interest in restoring a relation with Harry, Karl has never shown any such interest (and he's a very strange guy to begin with--trust me, I've met him several times, and he's weird. Even his friends think (or thought, since most of them are deceased) he's strange. And I can name Gene Maze, Father Cyprian, Herb Zarrow, Ken Krenzel, and Ron Wohl, all of whom knew Karl WELL and thought he was very strange. Karl was the only person Phyillis Zarrow refused to allow back into her house after her first visit.

I think a joke at his expense was well justified, and Regal was the perfect person to do it.

One thing I thought was gracious of Harry is that he excised the Last Word passage pertaining to Fulves when he reprinted Afterthoughts. Classy move.

Thanks for the background. Since you know way more about it than me, Ill take it under advisement. Regarding your own challenges, you seem to have handled it remarkably well and I wish you the best. Your contribution is immense & much appreciated.
